Europe! Voices of Women+ in Film is EFP’s label and programme dedicated to amplifying the voices of European women and genderqueer filmmakers in the international film industry through promotion and networking, in partnership with three major international film festivals. The first step this year is the Sydney Film Festival, which features a specially curated section presenting the latest works of six women+ filmmakers. With support from Cineuropa, these talents and their films are brought to the attention of Australian audiences and the press.
Europe! Voices of Women+ in Film is a collaboration between EFP – European Film Promotion, the Sydney Film Festival, the Busan International Film Festival, and Festival do Rio. The initiative aims to highlight the virtuosity and power of innovative European filmmakers who identify as women or genderqueer. Any European film directed by a woman or genderqueer director, and selected by the participating festivals, is eligible to be featured with a visibility campaign under EUROPE! Voices of Women+ in Film with the support of the respective EFP members.
